Carlos S. Ramirez

Carlos S. Ramirez is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Law School Conservative. He hales from San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised. Carlos completed his undergraduate studies at American University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, having completed specialized coursework in Campaign Management, Judicial Politics, and North American Studies. At AU, Carlos was a Founding Father of the Theta Eta chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, as well as a member of the Student Government Judicial Board.

He is currently a Second-year Law Student at Drexel University’s Earle Mack School of Law in Philadelphia, PA, where he serves as Vice President of both the Drexel Law Republicans and the Drexel Law Federalist Society, and was a founding member of the Student Bar Association. Carlos spent the summer of 2007 as a summer clerk in the chambers of Judge Richard B. Klein of the PA Superior Court. He is currently interning at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, and will spend the summer of 2008 as a law clerk to Judge Jay A. Garcia-Gregory of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

During his time in College, Carlos served as an assistant to the Minority Leader (Anibal Vega-Borges, NPP) in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives during the summer of 2003, as well as a political intern under the Office of the White House Liaison for the Department of Housing and Urban Development from May to December 2004.

Carlos is an endowment life member of the National Rifle Association, a life member of the Second Amendment Foundation, and a member of the United States Navy League, and the American Conservative Union. He is also a 6 year veteran of CPAC. Carlos has worked for or volunteered for over 15 campaigns, including that of Jerry Kilgore for Governor in Virginia, Sam Katz for Mayor in Philadelphia, Lisa-Marie Cheney for Congress in Virginia, and Luis Fortuño for Resident Commissioner in Puerto Rico.

He is a Lethal Weapons Certified Agent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and an NRA Certified Instructor, and when not up to his nose in homework, he participates in some recreational shooting and enjoys reading political commentary. He also likes long walks on the beach, puppies, and unicorns.

Carlos’s interests are mostly related to the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms, as well as political strategy and campaigning. Expect to see articles by Carlos regarding the incorporation of the Second Amendment as well as commentary related to electioral politics and the upcoming Presidential Election.
